The star-spangled Mike + Ruthy Band dazzled the crowd Wednesday night at The Freight & Salvage with their magnetic chemistry, dynamic humor, prick~eared storytelling and orbital instrument playing.
Ranging from bittersweet somethings to feel good shindigs, the Mike + Ruthy Band rode the musical folk rock rollercoaster with gusto and zeal. Inspired by birth, death and the happenings upon the winding road of life, The Mike + Ruthy Band had a great blend of sky-rocketing vocals, soft, gentle moments and synergistic mountainous musical peaks accumulating into a recipe of soul satisfaction.
They are a great band to see live. The natural humor slipping from mind and spilling from the lips of Ruthy between the almighty awesome of each song and the fun opportunity of audience participation filled the auditorium with magical musical moments.
Check out “Bright As You Can,” “Rock On Little Jane,” “Simple and Sober” and “Goin’ Out” from their 2015 band debut album Bright As You Can.
