For those of you who have been awaiting any new music snippets from the DonCat crew after their explosive debut Don Gato, the boys are back. The band has released their first single “Untrue” off of upcoming sophomore album Easy Cowboy. Co-produced by Chris Sugiura who plays bass, DonCat is comprised of Kyle Kelly-Yahner on drums and frontman Duncan Nielsen. Duncan is a touring member of Geographer and plays bass in City Tribe, but what you should know him for is DonCat.

DonCat’s bio says they’re inspired by “American hope and native mysticism.” The band’s rock and roll Americana is a Wild West ache of expansive loneliness and freedom. It’s a back of the bar last call conversation where you say what you really mean, finally.

In a previous interview with The Bay Bridged, Duncan told us to expect “more cruising vibes” on Easy Cowboy as opposed to Don Gato. “Untrue” is our first taste of the new album, and it is most definitely the epitome of #EasyCowboy.

The best way to experience DonCat is to see them live. Find them at Rickshaw Stop on July 27 sharing a bill with Oh Pep! and Ghost Town Jenny. Find tickets here.
