The California Honeydrops performed at the SF Jazz Center on Friday June 10, entertaining a mixed crowd of old-time swingers and young-age swayers through the night. It didn’t take long for The Honeydrops’ sweet, soul-gospel swing tunes to get into the bones of the seated audience, compelling many to hop up and get down on the dance floor. Swing partners twirled, tapped, and moved with the band’s feel-good groove, creating a timeless scene indeed.

The band delivered saxy solos, organ meltdowns, and vocal dreamboats, among audience chant participation, trombone fun, washboard wizardry, trumpet treats, and N’awlins infused conga drum beats. The night was great.
