Bay Area favorite alternative rockers The Mother Hips continue their non-linear approach to scheduling and giving back to fans with a two-night stand this weekend at Terrapin Crossroads in San Rafael.
Performing in The Grate Room, the four-piece band of Tim Bluhm, Greg Loiacono, Scott Thunes, and John Hofer are slated for dual sets of music — one set of acoustic tunes and one set of electric tunes — each night. According to the band’s Facebook page, attendees can expect to hear a vast selection of choices from throughout their career, and “no song will be repeated.”
Surprise tunes and guest musicians are also slated to make each set incredibly unique. The Mother Hips are coming off a special show at the legendary Troubadour in LA, where the band surprised the audience in the first set by performing the Rolling Stones’ Let It Bleed in its entirety. Attendees were also treated to a special preview of a new track from the upcoming album, slated for the release later this year.
