Eureka California
This Week In PR is a column curated by Victor Valle and Jody Amable, celebrating the press releases that caught our eye but we couldn’t use. Here are some highlights from our inboxes this week.

Eureka, California
Unlike the fairly sleepy city tucked in the northern reaches of the state, Athens’ Eureka California are pretty damn loud. Watch the lo-fi video for “Sign My Name with an X” below. —JA

Pacific Heights
Considering Pacific Heights is from New Zealand — almost a complete trip around the globe from San Francisco and a 14-hour flight — one wonders how he came up with the name. Has he visited? Is there a neighborhood of the same name in NZ? Or was it just a random pairing of words? Either way, listen to the dreamy “Buried By the Burden” below.—JA

Honestly, I’m astonished it took this long for there to be a Latin-infused Morrissey cover band, owing to the oft-cited fact that Mexican-Americans love the man. They’ve already been gaining some serious steam on music blogs and on Moz’s home turf of the UK, probably because everyone else was also like “Finally!” There’s a serious opportunity for kitsch here, but Mexrrissey goes mercifully easy on the silliness. Check out their most recent single, “Estuvo Bien.”—JA
