Best Coast and Wavves are currently on a co-headlining tour known as the Summer Is Forever II Tour. They have been on the road for several weeks already, but last night was their first day back in their home state of California. They were slated to play at the brand new UC Theater in Berkeley, but unfortunately that venue is still under construction. Although it would have been cool to see Best Coast and Wavves in a new venue, they did not disappoint and wound up selling out one of San Francisco’s most iconic venues, The Fillmore.

Cherry Glazerr opened up the show with a mix of upbeat, in-your-face tunes and mellow, chilled-out vibes. They had an incredible energy and the lead singer killed it even though she was just getting over laryngitis. Wavves was up next — more high-energy surf rock. Most of their songs make you wanna dance, shout, and pogo all over. Finally, the main event: Best Coast. This California dream team is one to be reckoned with. Best Coast performed, as always, a show that was simultaneously engaging, mellow, high energy, relaxed, danceable, and in-your-face. Bethany and the band really know how to get down, and their love for their craft shines through in what they do.
