In Live This Month, we sample some of the great local and out-of-town bands performing in the coming month in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Noise Pop 2016 features prominently in this month’s podcast, which shouldn’t be a surprise given how many great bands partake every year in this annual highlight. Among other Noise Pop bands in the mix, check out new music from Seattle’s The Cave Singers, a track from the acclaimed collaborative album by Kneebody and Daedelus, and recent tracks from DIIV and Julien Baker.
Beyond Noise Pop, there are plenty of other highlights we’ve included in the podcast. Local bands Emotional, Scraper, and Exray’s are all celebrating the release of new albums. From out of town, Mass Gothic comes to SF this month as part of a tour around the band’s album release; the project is led by Noel Heroux, formerly the mind behind Hooray for Earth. From across the Atlantic, acclaimed singer-songwriter Lianne La Havas is performing a sold-out show at the Swedish American Hall.
Finally, we’ve got two Bay Bridged-presented shows to check out in February. First, WATERS, GRMLN, and Cocktails will be taking over Slim’s for a great night of indie rock on February 12. Two weeks after that, we’re hosting a free happy hour show at Bender’s for Noise Pop, with Baus, The Classical, and Motor Inn.
Founded in 2006, The Bay Bridged is a 501(c)3 nonprofit arts organization utilizing new media and presenting live events to support the San Francisco Bay Area’s indie rock, folk, and pop music communities.
