2016 Happy Hour

Are you ready for Noise Pop? Well, we are, too. One of our favorite Noise Pop traditions is our annual Happy Hour show at Bender’s February 26, and we’re excited to bring it back this year with a trio of great local bands: Baus, The Classical, and Motor Inn. The show will start at 5pm and it’s completely FREE.

Baus is a trio formed by Thomas Jackson, Mike Morales, and Sierra Wendt who know how to play LOUD and without defined boundaries. Their 2014 LP Idol Minds draws from their wide array of influences to produce an entirely unique, high energy sound that will feel quite at home in a packed Bender’s.

The Classical caught our ear when lead singer Juliet Gordon moved to the Bay Area from Colorado, and shared her engaging, expressive, and weird songs. Their 2014 album Diptych is full of personality and intense drumming that define The Classical’s sound. The Classical also released a great new video for “My Affection”, which was filmed at the USS Pampanito off Fisherman’s Wharf, and is appropriately dark and eerie:

San Francisco’s Motor Inn rounds out the lineup with a dose of toe tapping and catchy, yet still unconventional garage pop sounds. As we suggested last week, you should be watching them. Here’s Motor Inn’s latest EP, Odd Hours:
