Drawling vocals over an acoustic guitar are practically their own genre at this point, but there’s something about Andrew St. James that stands out from his peers.

Maybe it’s his California background, maybe it’s his age (20!), maybe it’s his tendency to air on the side of a singable melody. The San Francisco-based singer-songwriter has appeared in the pages of TBB just a handful of times, but still made a big impression on us.

Delicate and a little dystopian, with the faint hum of an organ accompanying, “Dangerous Love” mellows out our 45-song compilation.
