Simon Green, who performs under the stage moniker Bonobo, might not necessarily be a household name given his very unique style of music. However, after the release of his latest LP The North Borders in 2013, the English producer has hit his all time high. Thirteen masterfully composed tracks all under the production of Green himself, it’s no surprise that a live album in support of his follow-up tour was released just over a year later.

Bonobo’s sound ranges from a variety of genres that include chill wave, acid jazz, and electronica, or in other words, it could be relaxing and dreamy one moment and then hit you with an extremely danceable beat the next. Green’s production and experimentation is truly one of a kind and in my opinion unmatched. After all, he’s been in the game since 1999 giving him all that time to hone his skills to produce quality music. Along with the release of five albums dating back to 2000, Bonobo has also released a total of 18 EPs and has worked on various production projects, justifying his passion for the music craft.

The Bay will get the opportunity to see Bonobo’s talents on stage as they will be performing two shows in San Francisco. The first, will be at Bill Graham Friday, Dec 11 playing alongside ODESZA and Big Wild, while a more intimate set will be held at The Midway the following night.
