Oakland’s Shaggy Sample just released their second album, the appropriately-titled #2 Record. While the first album heavily features David Jaberi’s Wurlitzer finding classic grooves, #2 Record is dominated more by jangly guitars, giving the first half of the album more of a light-rock-meets-California-country-vibe than their debut. Fans of electric piano grooves need not fret, as the Wurlitzer is more prominent on the back half. Shaggy Sample performs at Starline Social Club October 27, which if you haven’t noticed, has been booking some very nice shows as of late. Listen to #2 Record below.
