The Adult Swim Drive-In is coming to Treasure Island on Friday, October 23. Less than a week after the buzz that is to come during this year’s Treasure Island Music Festival, you could find yourself relaxing under the stars watching unaired episodes of the network’s best shows on the big screen.
Starting back just a month ago in Pittsburgh, Adult Swim has introduced a new touring drive-in show. Viewers of the event will have the opportunity to watch from the comfort of their cars, or sit on the turf lawn bundled in their own blankets and pillows.
The screenings will show unaired episodes of the network’s best such as Rick and Morty, Robot Chicken, and Tim and Eric’s Bedtime Stories. For those viewing the screen from their cars, organizers for the event will give instructions on how to tune into the broadcast via radio transmission.
Concessions, photo booths, trivia/prizes, as well as local food trucks will be onsite for the attendee’s personal pleasure. Food vouchers are available while supplies last, so if you plan on eating for free, you might want to show up to the event a bit early. In fact, the entire event is on a first come, first serve basis.
The event website includes an FAQ that answers most questions that could be asked, including whether or not we’re able to bring our dogs (sadly the answer is no). To attend, RSVP on the Drive-In’s website but arrive early since RSVPing does not guarantee entry.
Doors open at 6:30, and the event is expected to run for three hours. I would highly suggest arriving earlier just to be able to get in due to its limited capacity. Even if you’re not a fan of the network and the shows, why would you miss this opportunity? It’s got all the makings of an extremely enticing Friday night: free entry, free food, and free cartoons.
