Blisses B

You know it’s going to be an interesting evening when Blisses B begins their concert not up on the Amnesia stage, but on the dance floor — right behind you as you’re ordering a Berryessa, the distinct acoustic jam of “Weapons Grade” seeping into your eardrums as the bartender counts out change.

This was how the folk/alt-rock quartet began their month-long Tuesday night residency at the Mission-based bar. After a particularly energized rendition of rocker “Montevideo,” the band announced that each week this October they will be performing one of their full-length albums in its entirety. Sorry for those of you who were really hoping to catch Sea Level Astronomy. Maybe if you’re really nice to them, they’ll consider your requests at the next show.

Each week will feature different bands and solo acts. I got to check out the old-school country twang of Actual Wolf and the haunting voice of Ruben Diaz. Next Tuesday, you can catch a solo performance by Annie Girl and the album release show for Wicked Winds.
