In a surprise announcement, Treasure Island Music Festival sent out notice this afternoon that acclaimed electronic pop artist FKA twigs will be replacing Robyn & La Bagatelle Magique for the #3 spot in the lineup. It is not immediately clear why Robyn had to cancel.
The set will mark the 27 year old rising star’s last scheduled North American show in 2015. Fresh off an FYF headlining gig — which saw her combining her sleek dance pop with a live dance choreography performance onstage — and a best new music tag from Pitchfork for her M3LL155X EP, FKA twigs is having a remarkable year.
Catch her along with The National and Deadmau5 (who will perform for the first time in San Francisco since 2011), CHVRCHES, The War On Drugs, Azealia Banks, Father John Misty, Run The Jewels, Panda Bear, STS9, and Drive Like Jehu on Oct 17-18 at Treasure Island Music Festival.
