Josh Lippi, a multi-instrumentalist who has toured with K. Flay this summer and Tommy Guerrero earlier this year in addition to gigs with Lee Bob & the Truth, somehow managed to find the time to release his debut album, Now Open Sundays, last month. Lippi makes it clear from the opener that he came to play some rock and roll, and play it loud, which he does for most of the album. His talent shines throughout, but he really seems find his sweet spot on the blistering instrumental “Bombing Hills” and old school rock and roll influenced “Tokyo Boogie”.

Lippi continues his busy schedule with a show tomorrow night as part of Lee Bob & the Truth at the Chapel, followed by a free show with K. Flay at Rickshaw Stop August 18.
