Sam Amidon manages to accomplish something that not every folk musician can. His music can move seamlessly from upbeat, intricate finger-picking to serene, floating melodies, all without compromising a true sense of self. As you move through his arrangements, there’s no doubt of who you’re listening to, or of what he is trying to accomplish – which, in the end, is a unique and stunning tribute to traditional folk music.
On tour in support of his latest release, Lily-O (out now via Nonesuch), Sam Amidon will be joined by SF’s own Little Wings (always a lovely choice), as well as Kentucky’s Joan Shelley at the Swedish American Hall on July 28 (tomorrow) . . . and we have a pair of tickets to give away!
To enter for a chance to win tickets to see Jake Shimabukuro at The Mountain Winery, email anna@thebaybridged.com with “Sam Amidon” in the subject line and your full name in the body of the email. A winner will be selected at random and notified via email.
