If you’ve lived in the Bay Area for any amount of time, you’ve likely experienced SF City Hall in one way or another. Perhaps you’ve taken Muni down Van Ness or emerged from the Civic Center BART station and seen that iconic dome. Maybe you’ve held your marriage ceremony inside the walls (or even just gone inside to pick up a marriage license). Or perhaps you’ve just strolled by during various outings in the city.
This Friday, June 19th, City Hall will celebrate 100 years, in the form of the San Francisco City Hall Centennial Celebration. This will be a doozy of a celebration, featuring live music from many local musicians and artists (Lavay Smith, Jello Biafra, Penelope Houston, Chuck Prophet, Tim Bluhm from the Mother Hips, Andy Cabic from Vetiver, Mark Kozelek from Sun Kil Moon – just to name a few), food trucks, a silent disco, a beer garden, and more.
Festivities start at 6:00pm and end at 11:00pm. The full lineup and other details on how to celebrate SF City Hall’s history on SFCityHall100.com!
