Lady Lamb is touring in support of her new album, After, out now on Mom + Pop. Rathborne and San Francisco’s Sea Knight will support her all ages show at Rickshaw Stop on Saturday, April 25.

Lady Lamb is Aly Spaltro, who began recording music in the basement of a video rental store in Brunswick, Maine. Recordings from these early sessions eventually made it onto Ripely Pine, Lady Lamb’s major label debut with Ba Da Bing! Records in 2013. Spaltro’s accomplished followup, After, was co-produced with Ripely Pine collaborator Nadim Issa and released on Mom + Pop last month.

Lady Lamb’s songwriting style is versatile and lyrically charged, with variations in tone and volume to accentuate emotional themes while gently subverting genre conventions. After opener “Vena Cava” is a great example–starting off folksy and innocent until the drums and electric guitars kick in around the forty-second mark where Spaltro belts out her snarling chorus. Watch her official lyric video for “Billions of Eyes” below.
