The Sandwitches, by Rachel Walther

The Sandwitches have been quiet for the past few years; in fact, there hasn’t been much action from the spooky garage group since 2012-ish. As we continue to plow our way through 2015, the Sandwitches have emerged with some new music.

And just when you might be getting excited about the band’s return to the Bay Area scene, there is also the sad news that (according to Gorilla vs. Bear) this will be the band’s final release.

Entitled Our Toast, this 9-song release from the Sandwitches will be out on June 9th via Empty Cellar Records and is currently available for pre-order. The album was recorded by Kelley Stoltz and mastered by Mikey Young, and the LP edition will be packaged in a gold-foil stamped jacket featuring artwork by Deirdre White and The Sandwitches. The first pressing will include a limited edition run of 200 LPs in decadent “oxblood” vinyl.

The first single, “Play It Again Dick,” is an ominous tune with some hints of twang:

1. Sunny Side
2. Play It Again Dick
3. Sleeping Practice
4. Dead Prudence
5. Miggy
6. Island Jam
7. Personal Hell
8. Wickerman Mambo
9. Nothing But Love
