San Francisco’s only rock and roll beer festival, The Bay Brewed, is back for a fourth year of pairing outstanding local beer and local music! Taking place at The Chapel on March 29, 2015, this year’s festival offers performances by four great San Francisco Bay Area bands and unlimited tastings from eleven San Francisco breweries all day long thanks to the SF Brewers Guild. Between now and the festival, we’ll be previewing each of the participating breweries, giving a bit of history and talking about some of our favorite brews from all of these great San Francisco beer makers.

Woods Beer describes its offerings as “adventurous brews for curious drinkers,” and there’s probably no more apt ethos for a brewery that began with the MateVeza IPA, a stimulating beer made with yerba mate. Having grown from a small Cervecería near Dolores Park to three locations, with one in Russian Hill and another in Oakland, Woods continues to craft experimental, creative brews.
Earlier this month, the brewery celebrated their now-annual “Cookie Beer Day,” launching a batch of beers inspired by Girl Scout cookies, including “coconut caramel Samoale, oatmeal peanut butter Brew-ski-do, shortbread Beerfoil, chocolate peanut butter Hopalong, and chocolate peppermint Thick Mint.” In conjunction with the release of their Cookie Beers, you may have seen Woods’ amazing collection of local merit badges (displayed above), which you can actually buy in their online store.
Delicious beer and a playful sense of humor: we’re looking forward to checking out their latest creative offerings at The Bay Brewed.
