Pine Street Brewery

San Francisco’s only rock and roll beer festival, The Bay Brewed, is back for a fourth year of pairing outstanding local beer and local music! Taking place at The Chapel on March 29, 2015, this year’s festival offers performances by four great San Francisco Bay Area bands and unlimited tastings from nine San Francisco breweries all day long thanks to the SF Brewers Guild. Between now and the festival, we’ll be previewing each of the participating breweries, giving a bit of history and talking about some of our favorite brews from all of these great San Francisco beer makers.

Much like the bands of The Bay Brewed, the founders of Pine Street Brewery got their start for the right reasons. “We like arts and crafts” was the primary reason Pine Street founders Jay and Dave started brewing in a small San Francisco apartment on Pine Street.

While much of the independent brewing scene is releasing beer after beer with a high ABV, Pine Street refreshingly focuses on session beers with ABV’s around 5%. For Bay Brewed, Pine Street will be pouring two beers: their signature Atom Splitter Pale Ale, which contains a “blend of centennial and cascade hops

[that] creates a citrus intense flavor profile”, along with their Black Bay Milk Stout, which they describe as “a great alternative to the everyday stout” that “pours heavy and dry.”

Pine Street tells me they’re actively scouting for a permanent location in San Francisco for their brewery restaurant in 2016. In the meantime, you can get to know the artists and beers of Pine Street Brewery March 29 at Bay Brewed. Get your tickets now!
