It’s nice to see bands evolve. Cave Clove essentially began as a collaboration between singer-songwriter Katie Colver and drummer Melissa Kilkuskie, and retained much of the traditional singer-songwriter vibes throughout the process. As the band has expanded into a four-piece, they’re exploring new, louder, territory with their sound. “We are finally finding our voice as a cohesive band and with the addition of Brent Curriden our lead guitarist things are getting loud and powerful!” explains Kilkuskie. “I think we are finally settling into the fullest potential of these songs and the results are exciting.”
To help give you a feel for their transition, they’ve shared a video for their take on First Aid Kit‘s “My Silver Lining”, recorded live at Purple Glitter Studio in LA. Watch it for the first time below:
Cave Clove performs April 8 at Rickshaw Stop, where they’ll be joined by Doncat and self-proclaimed local “supergroup” Montra, who will be releasing a new EP.
