Nashville folk outfit Judah & the Lion is hitting town tomorrow night to support Mat Kearney at the Warfield. If you’re unfamiliar with the group’s music, imagine the divine harmonies of Mumford & Sons mixed with the boisterous fun of Old Crow Medicine Show, and then add a layer of Springsteen-level grandiosity to get a collection of soaring, Americana anthems. Their latest LP Kids These Days is full of such anthems: there’s the aptly titled “Twenty-Somethings” that asks all the questions mystifying the millennials; the feel-good we-don’t-need-money-to-have-a-good-time singalong “Rich Kids”; the slightly funny, slightly sad identity search of “Somewhere In-Between.” It’s an album full of country sincerity and heartfelt lyrics bolstered by addicting melodies. Check out the raucous “Kickin’ Da Leaves” video below to see for yourself.
