Live 105 bills itself as “The Bay Area’s Alternative,” and the radio station is living up to this title with its BFD 2015 lineup, which was announced this morning. Headlined by indie rock stalwarts Modest Mouse, Icelandic indie-folkers Of Monsters And Men, and indie-pop act Panic! At The Disco, and with main stage support from the likes of Cold War Kids and Atlas Genius, BFD 2015 will also feature a host of local independent bands playing three of the festival’s four stages on June 6 at Shoreline Amphitheatre.
That’s right, this year’s iteration of the alternative radio station’s summer festival will include 15 local acts, from some of the Bay Area’s more established indie acts (K.Flay, The Limousines) to the region’s fastest rising stars (Cathedrals, Waters, The Family Crest) and most promising younger bands like Beta State, Panic is Perfect, Andrew St. James, Picture Atlantic, and Slaptop, among others.
BFD may just be your best bet if you want a relatively inexpensive way to see a bunch of your favorite local acts, but you also want to experience a whole ton of great national acts without the crowd, heat, or travel associated with the likes of Outside Lands, BottleRock, and First City Fest. Tickets range from $37.50 for lawn seats to $49.50 or $69.50 for reserved seating (plus service charges, natch). General on-sale starts March 14 at 10am on LiveNation.com.
