San Francisco label Death Records is set to release Air Surgeon’s debut EP this spring. The local pop band is a long time favorite of Death Records – not only was their song “FRX” featured on the label’s first compilation tape released last December, but they also played the label’s inaugural tape release show.

Run by Brian Wakefield of likeminded bands Melted Toys and Emotional, Death Records embraces the mentality of the SF “misfit” culture, consisting of mainly garage pop bands that are still standing strong but all too often brushed off in the wave of migration surrounding this particular group. More on Death Records here.

The self-titled record’s first single, “Wardrobe”, is a wonderful audio-realization of the name Air Surgeon. The track is relaxed and airy – somewhere between a summer lounge tune and a lo-fi pop jam. The EP will be released digitally via Death Records website.
