Fronds’ self-titled debut LP came out in late 2013 and made a lot of “best of” lists. Videos were made. Sexy videos… Unfortunately the band played very few gigs. A jam-packed show at the Chapel bar in September was brilliant.

This Saturday, December 20, Fronds will play live in the MEGADOME at Chabot Space & Science Center in Oakland. It is a Winter Solstice blow-out that also features the incredibly talented Sylvie Simmons. There will be delicious food, hot apple cider, ice cold beer, wine and lots of other surprises. Karen Penley will bring her unique comedy, and Buster Keaton will take everyone to Truckee in “The Frozen North”. After the show, head upstairs to enjoy the solar system through Chabot’s giant telescopes. It is all ages and runs 7:30–10pm.

Fronds boasts not one but two Dylans. The Dylans are best known from their days with The Mallard. Lead singer Dylan Tidyman-Jones has played with Sonny & the Sunsets, Cool Ghouls, and Yes on Blood. When Dylan Edrich is not teaching music, she may be found mixing sound at the Knockout. Her keyboard stylings have also graced the stage with Mikal Cronin. Drummer Miles Luttrell is quite simply the best drummer in the area. He also played with The Mallard and is currently drumming for the almighty Useless Eaters. On bass it’s Donrus Mil who plays with What Fun Life Was.

These MEGADOME shows are brought to you by the good folks at The Octopus Literary Salon and there are only two MEGADOME shows left! Don’t miss it!!
