This weekend, our friends at Do415 are teaming up with culinary entrepreneur incubator La Cocina to present something completely different – a holiday market in Ghirardelli Square called El Mercado – and The Bay Bridged is happy to be partnering with them for this unique, locally focused event.
Envisioned as “a vibrant marketplace for natives and tourists alike to celebrate local entrepreneurship and find the perfect gift for the holidays,” El Mercado (that’s Spanish for “The Market,” don’tcha know?) will feature some 20 food vendors and 40 DIY artisans, allowing these small businesses that are ever so important to our economy to reap some of the benefits of the holiday spending madness.
How does this all relate to music you ask? What, did you think Do415 and Noise Pop would be involved and leave you without any entertainment? Of course not. Friday night’s O, Mole Night Kick-Off will include an exclusive performance by Bells Atlas and a DJ set from Cathedrals. Then, throughout the weekend, Noise Pop curated indie rock carolers will be popping up around the marketplace. Doesn’t get much more festive than that, if you ask us.
So get on down to El Mercado this weekend and find that special someone the perfect locally-sourced gift for the holidays, all while enjoying some of the best locally-sourced tunes out there. Get full details on all of the festivities here, and we’ll see you around Ghirardelli Square.
