bay bridged rock n roll holiday show

You’re probably going to get invitations to a lot of holiday parties as December approaches, but few of them will be as fun as what we’ve got in store for you in a few weeks. On December 17, we’re excited to team up with the terrific and equally terrific Father/Daughter Records for a “Rock n Roll Holiday Spectacular” at Leo’s in Oakland.

True to its name, the show will feature performances by four great local rock bands. Happy Diving just released Big World, chock full of wonderfully noisy, punk-infused pop. Cocktails released one of our favorite LPs of the year: Adult Life is power pop perfection, and the band’s live show delivers those tight harmonies and infectious melodies with aplomb. bAd bAd is another band we’ve been happy to champion this year; the group’s mariachi surf punk is an inventive and enthusiastic reimagining of garage rock. Finally, Michael & The Strange Land released a stellar EP at the beginning of the year, serving up hazy post-punk with a propulsive backbeat.

All told, it’ll be a great show and a really fun evening, so throw on a holiday sweater (seriously, it’ll save you $2!) and we’ll see you there!
