Dream Police drop new album Hypnotized before two Bay Area dates

Dream Police might be derived from the founding members of The Men, Mark Perro and Nick Chiericozzi, but the side project sounds nothing like the overtly grungy Tomorrow’s Hits and New Moon.

However, there are still similarities.

Born after five straight months of touring with The Men, Perro and Chiericozzi implemented a few different instrumental voices with their (at the time) haphazard jamming, including a drum machine and a Juno 106 synthesizer. It was all casual, but before long, they had some genuinely hard tracks.

The result is rough-edged guitar work with electronic psychedelics, garnered into the fitting project title of Hypnotized.

This winter they’re taking their act on the road and will hit the Bay Area for a couple dates in early December. In the meantime, you can order their album here at Sacred Bones.
