Tone in Georgia

If you’re looking to broaden your musical horizons this week, look no further than San Jose’s Art Boutiki on Friday, which will be featuring touring band Tone in Georgia. Check out “Gospel” from 2013’s Fresh Palm Fronds, below.

Hailing from the musically-underserved Antelope Valley, Tone in Georgia reveal influences that are wide-ranging and kind of weird—you’ll hear everything from music-hall fanfare to south-of-the-border horns. But they’re not all kitsch and camp: They make it all happen with obvious musical talent.

The deep well of exotic inspiration they draw on makes them seem right at home in the Bay. Let’s give ’em a warm welcome. Maybe they’ll stay.

They’ll be appearing alongside Wallace, The Heartattacks, and Tyler Boyd of A Yawn Worth Yelling.
