It’s true, SF’s Swiftumz and Michael Beach are bringing it to the MEGADOME this Friday, October 10!

What the hell is the MEGADOME? So glad you asked. The MEGADOME is the future. This new monthly series is brought to you by The Octopus Literary Salon and takes place at Chabot Space & Science Center in the beautiful Oakland hills. 70mm films play overhead, Omnimax style, while the bands are rocking out. It starts at 7:30pm. There are always delicious tamales and ice cold Tecates. It is all-ages. There are beautiful hikes to check out before the show and at 10pm the giant telescopes on the roof are available for your viewing pleasure (weather permitting).

Swiftumz’ fearless leader Chris McVicker may be most famous for writing the Hunx tune, “Don’t Cha Want Me Back”, and it’s great, and you should certainly not miss Hunx at Total Trash as Gayracula (the gay dracula), but all Swiftumz songs are crazy good, catchy, fun and often psychedelic.

Michael Beach has played with too many great bands to list, but I will try anyway: Charlie Megira, Colossal Yes, Meercaz, Electric Jellyfish, Shovels … his solo work is equally fabulous. Michael heads to Australia in a few weeks to play with Melbourne-based Shovels, so come send him off in style!!

Get ye’ to the MEGADOME! where you can hear great, live, local music in the perfect dreamlike space with visions of astronauts floating above. Oh, yes, Buster Keaton will be there as well. Don’t miss it.
