A daytime dance party for the homeless is certainly not an event that comes along every day. This Saturday, October 11th, The Dance SF will take place at Mighty, featuring an 8 hour dance marathon benefiting At the Crossroads, the SF non-profit that works with underserved homeless youth and young adults in the Mission and Downtown/Tenderloin neighborhoods.
The event will be headlined by the one and only Grandmaster Flash(!), and will also feature sets by J Boogie, Afrolicious, Motown on Mondays DJs with The Hitsville Soul Sisters, and more.
Because it would be pretty difficult to dance for 8 hours straight (unless you really, really want to), The Dance SF will also feature dance and yoga classes, a food truck garden (with free coffee from Philz!), and massages.
8 Hour Dance Marathon: Companies, organizations, and individuals can form teams or sign-up individually to join The Dance SF and begin raising money today. Get started now with three easy steps:
1. Register here. Your registration fee helps us cover the cost of producing the event, and in return you’ll get an event T-shirt, drink tickets, food, and lots of other goodies at the event.
2. Set a goal and create a fundraising profile either as part of a team or as an individual. Set your fundraising goals and manage your platform with the tools on the right. We suggest that the average raised per team member is $250.
3. Get ready for a day of awesome music and dancing, with great music and plenty of sponsored food and drink to keep you going. Costumes, team dances and other creative expression is encouraged and prizes will be awarded for champion fundraisers and dancers with the most flair.
We have two pairs of tickets to give away to this show! To enter for a chance to win tickets, email email@example.com with “The Dance SF” in the subject line and your full name in the body of the email. Winners will be selected at random and notified via email.
