the stone foxes - she said riot

The Stone Foxes‘ new song “She Said Riot” was inspired by their participation in the Occupy movement and the changes that increased gentrification is bringing to San Francisco, but it’s just as likely to lead to a riot on the dance floor as it is a politically-motivated one. “She Said Riot” is a propulsive rocker, with killer guitar and organ work, a perfect song for this crazy heat spell we’re in.

The song is part of Foxes First Fridays, the group’s year-long project where they’ll be releasing a new song on the first Friday of each month. It’ll all lead up to a new album, Twelve Spells, which you can pre-order at the band’s web site. Check out September’s offering, “Locomotion,” too.

The Stone Foxes have not one, but two California residencies coming up starting at the end of the month. Locally, they’ll be at The Chapel for three Saturday shows; in LA, they’ll be at the Bootleg Bar for three Thursdays. All those dates are below.
