Deafheaven, From the Kettle Onto the Coil

Deafheaven recently shared a studio recording of “From the Kettle Onto the Coil”, a new track they premiered earlier this year at Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago. “From the Kettle” is the band’s first new release since 2013’s breakthrough sophomore effort Sunbather, which garnered the San Francisco black metal outfit international acclaim, and the song will be released as part of this year’s Adult Swim Summer Singles Program.

“From the Kettle Onto the Coil” picks up where Deafheaven left off with Sunbather, featuring an epic wall of sound with shoegazey guitars, ferocious drums, and, of course, the anything-but-dulcet tones of George Clarke’s voice. Below, listen to the studio version, and then watch Deafheaven premiere the song live at Pitchfork Music Festival 2014.
