For those of you planning to rage in the Mission for the 20th Street Block Party this weekend and find yourselves asking, “Gee, what do we do after Rogue Wave wraps up the festival at 6:00?”

That’s too early to go home because you’ll probably still be too buzzed to drive or navigate your way to the nearest BART station. Have no fear- the party continues at the Chapel with Porchlight’s Summer Soul Celebration, a dance extravaganza featuring Marc & the Casuals, gospel East Bay legends the West Coast Spiritual Corinthians, Persephone’s Bees and many, many more.

Porchlight’s is a twelve-year and running storytelling series where co-founders Beth Lisick and Arline Klatte invite six people from different backgrounds to tell ten-minute true stories about life in San Francisco, with past storytellers including some of the Bay Area’s most entertaining politicians, artists, authors, sex workers, you name it. Combine that with an ensemble of twenty plus musicians, raucous soul jams and a bunch of surprise guests, and you’ve got the makings of a very San Francisco experience, full of weirdness and good vibes and memories you won’t be able to make in practically any other place on earth. Summer’s almost over- celebrate it with a bang!
