Sylvan Esso has had a hell of a year. The duo, made up of members Amelia Meath (Mountain Man) and Nick Sanborn (Megafaun), opened for tUnE-yArDs at the Fillmore earlier this year, and not long after they’re already returning to San Francisco to play their own sold out headlining show.

They’re natural performers—especially Meath, who at the Fillmore bounced around the stage, nearly upstaging Merrill Garbus (which, if you’ve ever caught Garbus you know is not an easy feat). In addition, they’ve been lauded, but not just by us. They’ve also caught the ear of NPR, The New York Times, Stereogum, AV Club and more, all of which laud their upbeat, smooth pop jams, christened with the same morally-lined punchiness as their former tourmates (“Hey Mami” below is about the horrible nature of catcalling, for instance) and their perpetually sharp delivery.

The show is sold out, but you can try your luck on Stub Hub. Trust us—it will be worth it.
