San Francisco’s Chris Klippel makes perhaps the finest clarinet-heavy bedroom indie-soul I’ve ever heard, and he’s back with a new collection of originals, A/B. Despite heavy influence from soul music of years’ past, his continued excellent use of acoustic guitar and clarinet create a distinct style that is all his own, making him one of my favorite DIY artists around. The seven originals and one cover that compose A/B are below, followed by his old-school take on the lyric video for “I’ve Got to Get Away”.

Klippel tells me he’s playing free a house show with a full band September 7, and he’ll be joined by Ripe Mangoes and another band TBA. Hit up his Facebook page for details.
