New Faultlines

Earlier this month, New Faultlines of Oakland released Runaway, their most recent album, on cassette. New Faultlines’ members have been around – they have or currently performed with bands such as Nobunny, Fronds, Useless Eaters, and more. The band’s music is focused on the melody, with strong pop influences leading the way and hints of surf, punk, and maybe a little ’80s radio country sprinkled in. The recordings are DIY, but I think the grainy audio and occasionally shaky guitars give New Faultlines’ music a little character that may be lacking with traditional clean production. Listen to Runaway below, followed by “Ancient Sea”, which is available as a 7-inch from Dulc-i-tone Records. New Faultlines will be playing a pair of Runaway release shows at The Night Light in Oakland and The Makeout Room in the Mission.
