Every year at Phono del Sol Music Festival, we offer a special treat for a lucky few festival attendees – our co-presenter Tiny Telephone Recording and its proprietor, the only and only John Vanderslice, give tours of the studio, which is located just behind the main stage. This year, tours will be available at 1pm and 3pm, with Mr. Vanderslice himself leading the way.
There are a limited number of spots available in each of the two groups, so get on over to this Google Doc and submit your request now. Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to get a glimpse inside one of San Francisco’s most well-revered recording studios. Requests must be submitted by Wednesday, July 9, 2014, and a confirmation email will be sent to those that get a spot. Note that you must attend the festival in order to participate in the studio tours – by submitting the request form, you confirm that you will purchase or have purchased a ticket to Phono del Sol.
Below, watch Vanderslice’s video for “How The West Was Won” off his latest LP, last year’s Dagger Beach. The video features JV and his crew performing the song (and shootin’ the shit) at Tiny Telephone.
General Admission and VIP tickets to Phono del Sol are moving quickly and can be purchased right now on the Phono del Sol ticketing page powered by Eventbrite. Individual General Admission tickets are $25 each, with a limited number of discount six-packs also available as well as a VIP ticket package.
