We last heard from Kristina Esfandiari in February with the release of Halloween Dream, her 7-inch solo debut as Miserable. As promised, she has returned again with equally strong material as King Woman. The new Dove/Fond Affections cassette single will be released June 17 via The Native Sound. The “cassingle” is currently available for pre-order in purple, white, and clear tape variants, each limited to 50 copies. While “Dove” has already debuted, you may now stream the exclusive premiere of “Fond Affections” below.

The dark, lovely shoegaze track is a cover of an original Rema-Rema song, that was also covered by This Mortal Coil. The new track is paired with the sprawling, original 15-minute A-side, “Dove” (which can be streamed over at Impose). King Woman’s previous “Degrida” / “Sick Bed” cassette single is still available from Sleep Genius.

Ms. Esfandiari is a former vocalist for Whirr, now balancing between her two solo acts. She will be touring California with Planning For Burial, Chasms, Mother Room, and Foie Gras, including a stop at Elbo Room on June 23. Iphigenia Gras (Foie Gras) also shot King Woman’s promo photo, displayed above.
