Reports had been circulating that Wye Oak was testing out a live cover of Kate Bush’s 1985 classic “Running Up That Hill” on their recent tour, but the finished product, captured by the AV Club, goes well beyond any expectations. Reworking the song into something moodier and leaner than the original, it’s a wonderful cover, and it makes me even more excited to see Wye Oak’s headlining performance at Phono del Sol 2014. It’s the band’s only Bay Area appearance on their upcoming tour, and it’s sure to be something special.
