Oregon-based Mimicking Birds will be playing The Chapel on a tour behind their newest full length album, Eons, which dropped earlier this month.
Their sound is soothing, and highly evocative of an Oregonian nature landscape that is calm and serene. The band uses synchronizing rhythms, transcending anything describable, with each melody, rhythm, and beat orchestrated so carefully as to be delicate. Nate Lacy, lead singer of the band, carries a Bon Iver-type sound that is low and hypnotic, in a way that directly touches the soul. The guitar is either mystifying or spell-bindingly addictive, with the rhythm section closely following. This newest release remains true and close to the band’s previous albums, and it’s definitely something to look check out.
