San Francisco’s City Tribe released “Wildflower” from their forthcoming debut album Undertow, a track that encapsulates Jacob Jones’ sincere vocals, Eric Wallace and Duncan Nielsen’s warm-toned guitars, and Cody Rhodes’ driving percussions.
Undertow was recorded at Faultline Studios and Coast Recorders by Andy Freeman, who has also recorded and mixed for other local up-and-comers like Rio Rio and Before The Brave. With founding members who originally started as a hardcore band years ago and disbanded, City Tribe now lures in fans with their warbling vocals and pastoral lyrics reminiscent of Fleet Foxes. Premiering recently on Paste, “Wildflower” promises a transition from the bi-polar weather of spring to California’s sticky-popsicles-on-porches summer.
Expect to see them at their July residency at Amnesia soon, and in between shows they plan to tour up and down the West Coast.
