The howling rock n’ roll babes of Deap Vally will be playing the Regency Ballroom on May 22. As part of 13-date tour, the duo will be playing three other dates in California. Deap Vally’s affinity for Golden State tour dates can be attributed to the duo’s Angeleno roots. The girls will be opening for British band Band of Skulls.
Julie Edwards and Lindsey Troy formed Deap Vally in 2011 and were quickly signed to Island Records. Sistrionix is their howling debut album that ranges in topic from walks of shame (or walks of pride, if you will) and the apocalypse. By no means revolutionary in their recordings, what Deap Vally do have is an energy and force that seems hard-pressed to find in the sea of meek dream pop indie bands. So throw on your denim cut-offs and maybe cut your own jagged bangs…
