Trans Am takes a new sound out for a spin

Not really, but the below alternate version of “I’ll Never”, a tune from the ever-inventive band’s new album, Volume X (due out May 20 via Thrill Jockey), is certainly one of the most poppy things I’ve ever heard from them. I’m willing to bet the ten songs on Trans Am’s tenth studio album (Volume X—get it???) are going to throw several more stylistic curve balls at you.
