Monterey-based Burnt Palms will release their sophomore album The Girl You Knew on May 26 via the WWNBB collective, and today we’re proud to premiere the first single off that forthcoming album, the lo-fi garage pop gem “Open My Eyes”.
The track races through two minutes driven by an unrelenting rhythm section, capturing the energy and coyishness that somehow simultaneously inhabit the band’s frenetic live performances, and providing the perfect entree into what could be one of the 2014’s tightest records.
The trio, comprised of Clara Nieto (drums, vocals), Christina Riley (guitar, vocals), and Brian Dela Cruz (bass) will celebrate the release of The Girl You Knew in fine fashion, opening for Perfect Pussy, Potty Mouth, and Wild Moth at the Catalyst in Santa Cruz on May 27. Stream “Open My Eyes” and get full details on the show, below.
