As we told you a little while ago, the second iteration of the First City Festival will take place August 23 and 24 at the Monterey County Fair and Event Center. Now the folks behind NorCal’s newest summer music fest have announced this year’s lineup, and it’s nothing short of spectacular, featuring indie legends Beck and The National as headliners, along with the likes of Best Coast, Dawes, Tokyo Police Club, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, and Speedy Ortiz, as well as local faves Geographer, Sleepy Sun, The Family Crest, Doe Eye, Cool Ghouls, and Survival Guide.
In addition to performers on three stages, the festival also features a Vaudeville-style variety stage, a full carnival with rides and games, and a marketplace full of independent designers. New this year is a full craft-beer and wine garden, as well as a a vinyl record marketplace curated by Beat Swap Meet, consisting of vinyl vendors and collectors from all over California.
Tickets for this year’s First City Festival, which takes place on the same hallowed ground as the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival, go on sale to the public this Friday, May 9 at 10am PT. Check out this year’s full lineup and highlights from last year’s inaugural event below, and be sure to get your tickets now, because with this lineup, they’re likely to go quickly.
