This month’s episode of our Artist Spotlight podcast series — featuring live-in-the-studio performances and interviews with emerging Bay Area performers — showcases The Tambo Rays. Brian DaMert had previously played in other bands, but when he wanted to start performing some solo songs he’d been recording at home, he formed The Tambo Rays with his sister, Sara, Greg Sellin, and Bob Jakubs. Over the past few years, the band’s energetic and melodic indie pop has established them as a local group on the rise, and the fact that they’ve been working on new recordings is definitely good news.

In this episode, we talk with The Tambo Rays about their origins and their plans for new music, and they perform two stripped-down songs live in the studio. It’s a really fun conversation and the band sounded terrific.
