Panda Bear

Panda Bear has announced new material following 2011’s Tomboy, to be released on Domino Records.

Currently the album is tentatively titled Panda Bear Meets the Grim Reaper, and features production work and collaboration from Sonic Boom (some might recognize him as Peter Kember, one of the original founding members of Spacemen 3).

Appropriately enough, he’s announced a coinciding North American tour that will start at the beginning of May. Joining him on various dates will be a dynamic roster of musicians, including Regal Degal, DJ Dog Dick, Peaking LightsDam-Funk, and Torn Hawk.

The San Francisco date will be at the Fillmore, at which husband/wife duo Peaking Lights (who originally met in San Francisco in 2006) are serving as openers.

Below is a taste of Panda Bear’s most recent work. No word on whether or not it will be featured on the forthcoming album. As of now, it’s only been confirmed by Sonic Boom to be a demo entitled “COSPLAY.”
