Last year, we told you about Jared Griffin of Sioux City Kid traveling to Nashville to record “Heartbreak Shakedown” in Jack White’s Third Man Record Booth. Today, we’re so happy to present the studio version of the track for the first time.
If you like what you hear, you will have MANY chances to catch the gravelly-voiced Sioux City Kid in person next month, as the kid continues Amnesia’s great run of 2014 residencies by taking over Tuesday nights at the cozy spot on Valencia, joined by a host of great local Americana-ish acts. After the residency, will be touring the Northwest supporting Seattle’s Dusty 45’s before hitting Arizona, New Mexico, and more on their own. “Sioux City Siouxsday” details are below.
